Code of Conduct
At Kickstarz, we want every child to enjoy fun football sessions in Rochdale in a safe and supportive environment. To make this possible, we ask all players, parents, carers, and coaches to follow our Code of Conduct. This helps us deliver high-quality kids and toddler football classes in Rochdale where respect, teamwork, and enjoyment come first.
The FA’s Respect programme underpins everything we do.
Respect means:
Recognising that the integrity of the game matters more than the result.
Understanding what behaviour is acceptable and unacceptable in football.
Taking responsibility for our own actions.
Supporting referees, coaches, and officials in their roles.
Ensuring the game is safe, fun, and inclusive for everyone.
This is not just a slogan — it’s a collective responsibility shared by players, parents, coaches, and supporters.
Players’ Code of Conduct
When representing Kickstarz, I will:
Play fairly and within the rules.
Avoid cheating, diving, time-wasting, or arguing with officials.
Show respect to my teammates, the opposition, the referee, and my coach.
Be gracious in both victory and defeat.
Listen to my coach and put the team’s needs above my own.
Shake hands with the opposition and officials after the match.
Speak to someone I trust, or the Club Welfare Officer, if I have any concerns.
If I break the Code of Conduct, I may:
Be asked to apologise to teammates, coaches, or opponents.
Receive a formal warning from the coach.
Be excluded from training or match play.
Have my parent/guardian informed of the breach.
Be suspended or, in serious cases, removed from Kickstarz.
Have the matter escalated to the County FA or FA if required.
Parents & Spectators Code of Conduct
Parents, carers, and supporters play a huge role in shaping the environment our players learn in. Your behaviour sets the standard for the game.
I will:
Remember that children play for fun, development, and enjoyment.
Praise effort and good play from both teams.
Respect the referee’s and coaches’ decisions — and encourage players to do the same.
Stay in designated spectator areas and off the pitch.
Allow coaches to coach — avoid giving conflicting instructions.
Encourage players to try again when mistakes happen.
Never engage in offensive, insulting, or abusive behaviour.
Promote respect for opponents, officials, and the game.
Social Media Guidelines
To maintain positive communication:
I will not post aggressive, abusive, or negative comments on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or any other platform relating to Kickstarz activities.
If I have concerns, I will wait 24 hours before raising them with the coach to allow for a calm and constructive conversation.
I will remember that tone can be misread in messages — sensitive matters will be discussed in person or via a direct call.
