Child Photography & Media Consent Policy
This section explains how we use photographs and videos, how consent is obtained, and your rights as a parent/guardian.
1. Why We Use Photography and Video
We may take photos or videos during training sessions, matches, and events for:
Celebrating player achievements and team successes
Sharing updates on our official website, social media platforms, and newsletters
Promoting Kickstarz to the local community and potential new players
Coach development and training purposes
We will never use children’s images for anything that could cause them harm, embarrassment, or distress.
2. Obtaining Consent
We will only take and use identifiable images of children if we have written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Consent is requested when joining Kickstarz and is valid until withdrawn.
Parents/guardians can change their consent preference at any time by contacting us.
3. How Images Will Be Used
Images may be used in the following ways (only with consent):
On our official website
On official Kickstarz social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
In printed materials (posters, flyers, newsletters)
In local media coverage of events or achievements
For in-house coach training
4. Guidelines for Safe Image Use
To protect the safety and privacy of children:
We will not publish a child’s full name alongside their image without specific consent.
We will avoid details that could help identify or locate a child outside of football activities.
We will use group images where possible, rather than individual close-ups.
We will ensure clothing is appropriate and images are taken in safe, public environments.
We will never use images in a sexualised or exploitative manner.
5. Parent/Guardian Photography
Parents, carers, and spectators are welcome to take photos and videos for personal use only, unless otherwise stated by Kickstarz staff.
Photos/videos must not be shared publicly on social media if other children are visible, unless their parents have given consent.
At certain events, photography may be restricted for safeguarding reasons — this will be clearly communicated in advance.
6. Withdrawing Consent
If you have previously given consent but wish to withdraw it, you can contact us at any time. We will remove and stop using your child’s images as soon as possible. Please note that once images are published online, they may remain visible to others even after removal from our official channels.
